John A. Graham, Jr., ’48
John Averill Graham, Jr., of Summerville, entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 12, 2010, John Averill Graham, Jr. He leaves his wife of 66 years, Virginia Calder Graham. Residence, Summerville, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John Averill Graham, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former at the graveside in Live Oak Memorial Gardens Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at two o’clock. Mr. Graham was born July 21, 1922 in Charleston, SC, the son of John Averill Graham, Sr. and Kate Eidson Graham. He was a graduate of The Citadel, Class of 1948, where he earned his BS in Civil Engineering. He served with the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Ferndale Baptist Church. After a career with NASA, he retired in 1973, and taught at Trident Technical College for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of Summerville; a daughter, Marilyn G. Pendergrass and her husband, Paul, of Star Prairie, WI; a son, John A. Graham, III and his wife, Denise, of Guilford, VT; a sister, Hazel G. Stutts of Augusta, GA;
