Death of Donald E. Padgett, ’50
Donald E. Padgett, 79, of Denton, passed away Wednesday, January 20,
2010 at Presbyterian of Dallas. He was born April 13, 1930 to Eugene H.
Padgett and Mary Ellen Wilson in Smoaks, South Carolina. He married
Deanna C. Sarby in Sierra Blanca, TX in 1963. He was employed at White
Sands Missile Range in New Mexico as a Missile Engineer before retiring
in 1986. Donald graduated from Smoaks High School and The Citadel in
Electrical Engineering in 1950. He was a soldier in the Korean War and
served as an Electronics Engineer at Ft. Bliss, TX. He volunteered for
24 years in tax assistance programs such as VITA and AARP in El Paso,
TX, Denton, TX, and Edmond, OK. Friends and family are invited to attend
a Celebration of the Life of Donald Padgett, Sunday, January 24 from 2-4
pm, at the Best Western Inn, 2910 W. University Dr., Denton, TX. Please
make memorials to the United Way of Denton, 625 Dallas Dr. Ste 525,
Denton, TX 76205. Donald is survived by his wife, Deanna Sarby Padgett
of Denton; daughter, Melanie Padgett Telles and husband Gil of Highland
Village; and granddaughters, Shannon Telles and Kristen Telles, both of
Addison.
