Death of Francis C. Taylor, ’55
Francis C. Taylor, of West Palm Beach, FL, entered into eternal rest on
November 6, 2009. Mr. Taylor was born September 4, 1933 in Charleston,
SC, a son of the late Walker William Taylor and the late Caroline Elsey
Taylor. He graduated with a degree in Business from the Citadel Military
College in 1955. He spent the next 15 years in the Far East in Korea and
Vietnam in the service of his country in the US Army. He was awarded the
Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Clusters and the Army Commendation Medal with
Oak Leaf Clusters in addition to other honors. He achieved the rank of
Captain. He came to Florida in 1976 to work as Comptroller for Rinker
Building Materials, then taking a position as Comptroller for a private
housing co-op in Ocean Ridge. Surviving are his wife, Joann (Conley,
Pinault) of West Palm Beach, one daughter, Angelina Blackwell (Michael)
of Henderson, NV, stepson, Keith Conley (Lilly) of Lake Worth,
stepdaughter Kathi Duncan (Dave) of Palm Beach Gardens, seven
grandchildren, one brother, Allen Wayne Taylor of Raleigh, NC. He was
predeceased in death by a sister, Doris Pope and a brother, Walker
Taylor, Jr., both of Charleston, SC. Friends and relatives may call at
Palm Beach Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3691 Seacrest Blvd, Lantana, FL,
from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday November 11. A Chapel Service will be
held 11:30 AM, Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at
the South Florida Veterans Cemetery in Lake Worth. In lieu of flowers
donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Palm Beach County,
