Citadel Alumni Deaths

Joseph Graham Howe, Jr. 85, of Charlottesville, VA, died on Sunday,
November 1, 2009. Mr. Howe was born in Wilmington, NC, on June 15, 1924,
the son of Joseph G. Howe and Gladys Williams Howe. Educated at the
Citadel and the University of Virginia, he had a long career in the
construction industry. Since 1977 he also taught at the University of
Virginia Schools of Architecture and Engineering. He is survived by his
wife, Virginia Grimes Howe; three children; and three grandsons. A
funeral will be held at St. Paul’s Memorial Church in Charlottesville,
VA, at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2009. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad,
PO Box 160, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
