Citadel Alumni Deaths

Kent S. Hunter, of Blythewood, died May 30, 2009. Funeral service for
Kent S. Hunter, 34, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, at
Sandy Level Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Ben Newman, Jr. Interment
will follow in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony
Waites and Carlos Bullock. The family will receive friends from 6 until
8 p.m. this Wednesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia.
Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of Seamon Horace Hunter and the late
Elaine Whittle Hunter. He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School,
Class of 1992 and The Citadel, Class of 1997. He was a member of Sandy
Level Baptist Church. Surviving are his father, Seamon H. Hunter of
Blythewood; a brother, Ernest “Ernie” Hunter of Charleston; aunts and
uncles, Van Strickland (Afon), Donald Hunter (Carolyn), Pat Coogler
(Sam), and Brenda Waites. Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his
mother, Elaine Hunter. Memorials may be made to Sandy Level Baptist
Church Cemetery Fund, 408 Blythewood Road, Blythewood, SC 29016.
