Sheldon C. Wright, 79, of Altamont, N.Y., died on April 10, 2009 at St.
Peter’s Hospice Inn surrounded by his loving family. He was born on
August 17, 1929, the son of Alexander and Anna (Farrar) Wright in
Plympton, Mass. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Brown) whom
he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with on April 4, 2009. He
is survived by his loving children, Donna O’Clair of Rotterdam, N.Y.,
Robert and his wife Karon of Canton, Ga. and Thomas and his wife Deborah
of Guilderland, N.Y. He was the cherished grandfather of John and Chris
O’Clair and Matthew and Zachary Wright. He is also survived by his
sister, Winifred Pillsbury of Plympton, Mass. He was predeceased by his
grandson, Timothy O’Clair. Sheldon Wright was a graduate of The Citadel,
and he proudly served his country from 1952-1953 during the Korean War
as a member of the United States Army. He was a civil engineer and he
worked for the Federal Highway Administration in Albany, N.Y. He was an
active member of the First Congregational Church of Albany, having held
the position of trustee as well as treasurer. Sheldon loved and enjoyed
his family. He really enjoyed spending time at the camp in Vt., as well
as boating, gardening, and home improvement projects. Calling hours will
be at Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont, N.Y. on Monday, April 13, 2009
from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 14,
2009 at the First Congregational Church of Albany at 12 noon. Interment
will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Plympton, Mass. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made in his memory to the St. Peter’s Hospice Inn or
the American Cancer Society or the First Congregational Church of
Albany.
