Charles B. Thompson III, ’64

Charles (Chuck) Boisfeuillet Thompson, III, 70, entered into rest on Sunday,
January 27, 2013 in Hilton Head, SC. A mass of Christian burial will be held
at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic
Church with Rev. Michael Lubinsky officiating. Interment to follow in
Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Thompson was born on December 17, 1942 at Camp
Gordon, GA to the late Charles Boisfeuillet and Mary Elliott Thompson. He
was a 1960 graduate of Richmond Academy and a 1964 graduate of The Citadel.
Mr. Thompson went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army.
He was an artist and musician. Mr. Thompson was a member of Johnny Hensley
and the Red Hots and also a member of the Sons of American Revolution. Mr.
Thompson is survived by his daughters, Chesley Thompson Gleason of Hilton
Head, SC, Suzanne Surtees Ashton (Scott) of Roswell, GA, and Kimberly
Surtees Standfest (Bryan) of Marietta, GA; by his sisters, Linda Thompson
Gledhill (Carl), and Kathryn T. Thompson both of Augusta; by his aunt,
Dorothy Thompson McCallum of Raleigh, NC; his four grandchildren, James
Ashton, Hudson Standfest, Ava Ashton, and Brock Standfest; and by numerous
cousins, nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews. The family wishes
to express appreciation to all those whose loving support and prayers have
sustained this journey, with thanks to Nan Wilson Thompson, David Gleason,
