Ben Andrew Gary, of San Francisco, passed away suddenly in his home in San
Francisco on December 26. Born September 24, 1951 to Bertha and Vernon Gary
at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, later raised in San Francisco where he
attended Grant Elementary and Poly High School. Graduated from The Citadel,
Class of 1973 with a civil engineering degree. Served proudly in the U S
Army in Germany. Worked for over two decades at Brunswick Bowling and
Billiards’ of Michigan for whom he traveled globally combining his computer
expertise with his great joy of bowling. Ben rolled at least six perfect 300
games in tournament play. Recently he worked for the USO at their
hospitality center at the SFO. Ben was always ready with a smile, a
“”Howdy”", and true fellowship. Ben was the beloved brother of Louis Gary
(Karen), the late Mark Gary, and his close cousin Caryn Lyons (William). He
is survived by numerous cousins across the country. Ben was interred at
Olivet Memorial Park in Colma. A celebration of his life will be held Friday
February 8 at 1:00 at the Aviation Museum at the International Terminal at
the S.F. Airport. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bay Area
