E. Leonard (Len) Smith, age 68, of Dayton, passed away Friday, December 28,
2012 at his home. Len retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of
service, worked as a realtor for Coldwell Banker Heritage Realtors, was a
longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a graduate of the
Citadel in Charleston, and was an Eagle Scout. He is survived by his wife of
45 years, Erma J.; son & daughter-in-law, Jeff & Tammy Smith of Centerville;
son, Steven Smith of Dayton; daughter, Cheryl Wills of Huber Heights;
brother & sister-in-law, Charlie & Alleene Smith of SC; grandchildren,
Steven Jr., Storm, Angel, Emerald, Raven, Ashlynn, Johnathan; and many other
relatives & friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM Thursday,
January 3, 2013 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 5464 Old Troy Pike
with Pastor Randy Clark officiating. The family will receive friends on
Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel,
5844 Old Troy Pike. If desired memorial contributions may be made to
Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Len’s memory.
